Das Setting von „Eine Kippe für die Kunst“ entspricht dem von „Selbstporträts“ (siehe Produktionsskizze unten). Das heißt, eine Person sitzt vor einem Venezianischen Spiegel, sieht sich frontal in die Augen und beobachtet sich, wie sie, im Wissen, dass ihr später im Ausstellungsraum jemand anderes „in die Augen sieht,“ gefilmt wird. Einziger Unterschied zu „Selbstporträts“ ist, dass sich die Person diesmal an einem Ritual „festhalten“ kann: das Rauchen einer Zigarette.
